How Can I Fix The Gap Between My Teeth?

At Lane and Associates we understand that your smile is an important part of your self confidence. That’s why we are passionate about helping our friends and neighbors here in North Carolina achieve their ideal smile! Part of that process for some people is closing the gaps between teeth. While the most recognized form of this is a gap between the middle front teeth, some also have gaps between other teeth in their mouth. For those that want to remove the gap between their teeth, we offer a variety of cosmetic dentistry services. One of these cosmetic dentistry options that can help correct a gap between teeth is called cosmetic bonding, also referred to as tooth bonding or dental bonding.

Cosmetic bonding is a process by which our dentist uses a tooth colored composite resin to repair damaged or chipped teeth. It can also be used to help reduce the gap between teeth by adjusting the shape of a tooth to make the teeth more uniform in shape and appearance, and close gaps between them. If you are interested in learning more about cosmetic bonding or looking for a cosmetic dentist in Raleigh, Durham, or throughout the Triangle and NC, contact our team. How does cosmetic bonding fix the gap between teeth?

Cosmetic bonding is an effective and affordable cosmetic dentistry procedure designed to repair and reshape teeth. It can also be an effective way to adjust the shape and uniformity of your teeth to correct for gaps! Cosmetic bonding works by using a tooth colored composite resin to reshape your teeth. One of our cosmetic dentists will lightly sand the tooth being corrected, then apply the resin. They will shape it to the desired form, and then use a special UV light to harden it. After it hardens, there will be some light sanding and polishing to make sure it looks perfect and natural!

Should I get cosmetic bonding or veneers to fix the gap in my teeth?

Porcelain veneers and cosmetic bonding are both great ways to improve your smile. Cosmetic bonding is generally less expensive than full veneers, but does not last as long, Also, teeth corrected with cosmetic bonding can still stain just like your normal natural teeth. Porcelain veneers are more expensive, but are a more permanent solution and last longer. They cannot stain like normal teeth, but they are usually used to replace a full set of teeth rather than for individual repair.
