Dr. Kim Melton has loved providing compassionate and gentle dental care to the Town of Wake Forest community and its surrounding areas for over 20 years.  She enjoys seeing patients of all ages, children and adults. Dr. Melton’s calm, patient, and caring nature has helped many high anxiety and dental phobic children and adults become regular patients at the dentist again.  She also speaks Spanish to communicate with her Spanish speaking patients.

Dr. Melton has completed volunteer dental mission trips in the past to serve the dental needs of children in impoverished areas of Venezuela and Mexico.  She served in the past as the Dental Director and Dentist for a Federally Qualified Health Center in a rural area of North Carolina.

Dr. Melton completed her DDS and a BA in Biology as 1 of 17 people in the country to be accepted straight out of high school into a 6 year BA/DDS program at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.  Afterwards, Dr. Melton completed a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.  She had a grant from the National Institutes of Health to help with this endeavor.  Her doctorate research studied biomaterials and dental implants.

Dr. Melton looks forward to continuing to serve the Wake Forest community as part of Lane & Associates.  In her free time she enjoys spending time with her daughter, Victoria, her dog, Kody, and her personal friends.  Dr. Melton hopes to find more time to enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors.
