Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Purks’ journey is a testament to resilience, hard work, and a deep desire to make a positive impact. Growing up as the only child of her single mother, Nikki, Dr. Purks’ early years were shaped by the values of determination and perseverance. These qualities would later become the cornerstones of her remarkable success story.

Dr. Purks’ commitment to excellence led her to Howard University, where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. Dr. Purks’ pursuit of knowledge led her to the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2022. Her insatiable thirst for learning prompted her to undertake a residency in Hospital Dentistry at ECU Health in Greenville, North Carolina, culminating in her completion in 2023.

Upon completing her education, Dr. Purks made a conscious decision to remain in Greenville, NC, driven by a desire to give back to the community that had warmly welcomed her during her residency. As a practicing dentist, she has combined her expertise with a compassionate approach, ensuring that every patient she serves receives comprehensive and preventative dental care.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Purks’ life is enriched by her diverse interests. An avid traveler, she uses her journeys to explore different countries, immerse herself in various cultures, and broaden her horizons. Additionally, she shares her life with an 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier named Zeus, a constant source of companionship and joy. Dr. Purks’ commitment to community service shines brightly in her involvement with volunteer organizations, where she has tirelessly provided free dental care to underprivileged communities. Her dedication extends beyond borders, having served not only in her local community but also in Rosarito, Mexico, where her impact has been deeply felt.

Driven by a passion for cosmetic dentistry and implantology, Dr. Purks continues to enhance her clinical skills and explore new techniques and technological advances in her field. She is most passionate about educating her patients and helping them maintain excellent oral hygiene and having confidence in their smiles. Her future aspirations include becoming a sedation dentist, allowing her to provide a comfortable experience for patients with dental anxiety.
